ASHRAE conference to target emerging markets
The American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers are looking for presenters at a conference focusing on building in developing markets.
The Efficient, High Performance Buildings for Developing Economies Conference will take place April 24-25 in Manila, Philippines. It is sponsored by the society’s Philippines chapter and the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute, and endorsed by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials.
Proposals are due Jan. 31. Those interested in presenting should submit a 400-word abstract and is or her background information.
The conference will focus on the unique challenges of developing economies, such as urbanization, every demand and sustainability efforts. HVAC construction’s role in these processes will also be explored.
Ashish Rakheja, conference co-chairman, said he hopes to bring diverse people together to share building-design approaches.
“The papers and presentation will provide examples of how to apply the latest technology to achieve cost effective solutions to support high performance buildings in developing economies,” he said.
