CDA turns manual into iPhone app
A new application puts the Copper Development Association’s Copper Tube Handbook in the hands — or pockets — of HVAC technicians, plumbers and contractors.
The CDA has released the 60-page manual as an app for the iPhone and iPad, available in Apple’s online store. Technical specifications, installation instructions and educational videos are included.
“The Copper Tube Handbook has always been one of our best-selling free publications,’” said Andy Kireta Jr., vice president of CDA. “In the past several years, we’ve noticed that a large proportion of the more than 5,000 requested copies are being downloaded from the web instead of being ordered in the printed version. Now, engineers, installers and inspectors will be able to carry the handbook with them in their pocket ―in one, easy-to-use mobile app.”
The 99-cent app is free to the first 10,000 people who download it.
An Android platform version is to be released later this year.
