Workers from Wisconsin, California
and Florida were among the HVAC and sheet metal winners in the Associated Builders and
Contractors 2011 National Craft Championships.
Ninety trades workers specializing
in fields such as mill work and carpentry also took part in the contest, which
was held April 12-15 in San Antonio as part of the association’s EdCon and
Expo.
“The
National Craft Championships is a great opportunity to recognize the wealth of
talent within the merit shop construction industry,” said 2011 ABC National
Chairman Michael J. Uremovich, president of Great Lakes Energy Consultants LLC
in Manhattan, Ill. “We look forward to honoring these craft professionals’
commitment to high-quality workmanship, technical knowledge and safe work
practices. These craft professionals are the best of their trade and represent
