ASHRAE is among those lauding the contributions
of engineers Feb. 20-26 in observation of National Engineers Week.
The observance recognizes the
importance of engineering to daily life around the world.
“National Engineers Week
showcases how our profession engineers the world in which we live,” said Lynn
G. Bellenger, president of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and
Air-Conditioning Engineers. “From buildings to manufacturing and
transportation, engineers have been behind many modern-day marvels. ASHRAE is
proud to be lead sponsor in this program and celebration.”
Events scheduled to be held
in conjunction with the occasion include Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day Feb.
24 and the Future City Competition.
ASHRAE Treasurer Tom Watson will serve as a judge for the Best Indoor
Environment and Most Sustainable Building awards.
