EastCoast updates software

March 17, 2011
The new version adds editing, reporting and visualizing tools.

EastCoast CAD/CAM has released version 3.4 of its Design to Fabrication software.

The Massachusetts-based software company says the product helps automate and streamline the design of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, including ductwork. The updated version adds editing, reporting and visualizing tools. It is designed to be used with Autodesk’s AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP software.

“The basis of all software development at EastCoast comes from listening to our customers,” said EastCoast President Dave Derocher. "The release of version 3.4 represents a number of important product requirements that come directly from our end users."

David Quigley, EastCoast’s chief operating officer, added that the company’s new products allow trades to collaborate sooner in the design process, saving time.

"Our customers are experiencing the advantage of true interoperability of the design and fabrication process by using the Autodesk-EastCoast CAD and CAM software process,” he said. “The efficiencies of a comprehensive full suite of tools that produce construction documentation quickly and accurately, that take a design from the engineering stage all the way through construction, are changing the way owners, architects, engineers and contractors are approaching the building process."
