The Society of Manufacturing Engineers recently surveyed area manufacturers ahead of its Montreal Manufacturing Technology Show.

While many U.S. manufacturers continue to struggle, the industry in one Canada province is showing resilliance.

The Society of Manufacturing Engineers recently surveyed area manufacturers ahead of its May 17-19 Montreal Manufacturing Technology Show at Place Bonaventure in Montreal and heard positive comments, officials said.

“We’ve been hearing a lot of optimism from both our attendees and exhibitors. In fact, we’ve been adding new exhibits and increasing booth sizes for others in these last weeks before the show,” said event manager Nick Samain.

Two-thirds of those who responded to the survey expect their business to increase, officials added.
