Kingspan Insulated Panels Inc. showed off its Envelope First approach to net-zero energy buildings at last week’s Greenbuild in Phoenix.
Kingspan showed off its energy-modeling results, which analyzed a school, warehouse, office building and retrofitted building. Company officials said the results showed savings over the 2004 edition of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers’ standard 90.1, which deals with the energy efficiency of most structures. Savings were also seen compared with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standards and carbon monoxide emissions.
The product and demonstrations were both well received on the show floor, Kingspan officials said.
