Retailer pledges $1 million for construction scholarships

Home Depot will give more than $1 million to support scholarships for students in HVAC and construction, HVAC Excellence announced.
Scholarships worth $1,000 each will be available to 500 vocational education students with another $1,000 going to the schools the winning students attend to be used in the classroom.
The money is coming from the Home Depot Foundation.
Applications will be accepted through April 30. Winners will be picked based on grades, work experience and leadership skills.
