Agreement anniversary to be marked
The 25th anniversary of the signing of the
Contractors and Unions Seal of Excellence will be recognized at an April 28
luncheon.
The ceremony and lunch will take place at 11 a.m. at the United Association Mechanical Trades School in Landover, Md.
The agreement led to the creation of CAUSE, which is made up of members from the Mechanical Contractors Association of Greater Metropolitan Washington, Plumbers union Local 5 and Steam fitters union Local 602.
The ceremony will include a re-signing of the agreement.
“The 1984 memorandum of understanding and the work done by CAUSE to implement it, has brought a quarter century of peaceful, cooperative labor relations, with no strikes, lock-outs or other work stoppages in the mechanical industry here in Washington,” said association trustee John J. Dunleavy.
