Toolmaker Ridgid is celebrating the launch of its community Web site,, with an online video contest, “How I Build My Reputation With Ridgid Tools.”

Visitors who register with the site are urged to submit a one- to three-minute video on how Ridgid tools help them professionally. The contest runs through April 30. Entries will be judged on creativity, entertainment and persuasiveness. Five finalists will be chosen by company officials, whose entries will be posted online for member voting.

Finalists will receive a free trip to Ridgid headquarters in Cleveland, where the contest winner will be announced. He or she will receive $2,500 in Ridgid tools.

“The contest is a fun way for TeamRidgid members to express their passion for Ridgid tools and how they have greatly impacted the way they do better business,” said Josh Sooy, Ridgid’s Web applications director.

To submit a video for the contest, visit the TeamRidgid Web site and click on the “Enter your video” link. Entries must be produced by amateurs and contestants must be U.S. residents over age 21.
