Topcon Positioning Group has released the new Topcon eXchange software add-on for AutoCAD Civil 3-D civil engineering design software. The add-on is designed to provide a workflow for office staff to export original 3-D design data for upload to the Topcon “cloud.” Company officials say Topcon eXchange enables construction-site model designers and computer-aided design experts to remain comfortable within their Autodesk software environments. Once design data is ready to be sent to an active project site, the software converts the Civil 3-D design information into Topcon standard file formats. Officials say after installation, users are able to log in to their own private and secure cloud-based Civil 3-D account, providing access to all of the project-related data that they have stored in Magnet Enterprise.
