Former basketball star to speak at roofing expo
Julius Erving, the legendary Philadelphia 76ers player, will appear at next year’s International Roofing Expo.
The 6-foot-7-inch forward, perhaps better known as Dr. J, will give the keynote address during the Feb. 6-8, 2018, event, which will take place in New Orleans.
“Not only is Dr. J one of the most accomplished athletes in the history of professional basketball, he is also a successful businessman who will share his winning philosophy,” said show director Tracy Garcia. “Our attendees and exhibitors will walk away motivated and empowered with a plan for success.”
Since his retirement in 1987, Erving has been an NBC television analyst, a manager with the Orlando Magic and an investor in TV stations and soda bottling plants.
“Julius Erving can offer strong perspectives on success and leadership,” said Reid Ribble, CEO of the National Roofing Contractors Association, which acts as the show’s official sponsor. “Hearing his unique life experiences will prove both educational and enlightening.”
