By supporting the foundation’s scholarship program, Navien aims to help reduce financial barriers for students pursuing careers in HVACR and to promote excellence and professionalism across the trade.
Six students received scholarships directly from Women in HVACR, while five additional scholarship awards were presented by Carrier in partnership with the nonprofit organization for a total of $55,000.
The recipients exemplify the kind of forward-thinking leadership that will shape the future of the HVACR industry, a press release from Heating, Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International said.
“The skilled trades provide essential services to home and business owners across the country. To ensure continued access to those services, it’s vital to invest in the next generation of tradespeople,” said Roland Ligtenberg, Housecall Pro co-founder and senior vice president of Innovation.
The scholarships, which are for new instructors, were established to honor the memory of D. Brian Baker, an advocate for continued learning and professional development in the HVACR industry.
Fieldpiece created the #MasteroftheTrade scholarship program to give back to the industry it has served for over three decades. The funds will assist recipients in covering college tuition fees or postsecondary HVACR technology program costs.
