Metal Lock Black is a solder that can be used to permanently attach all metals, unthreaded or threaded, matched or mismatched, without using heat. To apply, sand the unthreaded areas to be joined, apply a small amount of the solder to the fitting and pipe, and insert and turn the pipe 180 degrees or more; wait for 30 seconds before handling. Pressure tests can be conducted after two minutes. For threaded fittings, the solder is applied like other normal thread sealants. It has a temperature range of –65 to 350°F and can withstand shear pressure up to 2,200 psi (ISO 10123). It is nontoxic and meets several U.S. military specifications.
