The Firmware 3.12 update has been released for the ColorTouch^® residential and commercial color touchscreen programmable thermostats. The updated runtime graphics give users an instant view of runtime statistics on the ColorTouch screen, which enable users to easily view and evaluate energy usage so they can consider conservation options. Temperature and humidity email alerts make users aware if the temperature or humidity goes too high or too low, even when they are away from home. Users have the ability to turn off the weather feed information so they are not charged for the data use when the home is unoccupied. For installations where there is not a local outdoor temperature sensor, the manufacturer has enabled the outdoor temperature information to be captured from the Internet using the Wi-Fi card. The Supply Air Alert will send an email alert to the designated user or contractor when the supply air is not within the pre-set thresholds for both heating and cooling. According to the company, a Supply Air Alert may be an early indication that the equipment may need to be serviced.
