Extech Instruments: Thermometer-Multimeter
October 11, 2010
The EX210 is a rugged and compact multimeter complemented by a patented infrared (IR) thermometer. According to the manufacturer, the instrument is ideal for quickly identifying overheating motors or locating hot spots on electrical panels or HVAC vents without contact. The built-in IR thermometer with laser pointer features a 4:1 distance-to-target ratio and a range from -5 to 446°F (-20 to 230°C). The four-digit backlit display is large and easy to read. In addition to IR temperature, the digital multimeter measures current, voltage, and resistance. Measurements of minute current readings can go down to a low resolution of 0.1µA. The EX210 permits the user to select auto- or manual-ranging and provides continuity and diode testing. Data functions include maximum reading and a display hold function to freeze a reading on the display.
