Nortek Global HVAC now offers a shorter version of its M7RL gas furnace.

Paul Tse of the Rockville, Maryland-based Shapiro & Duncan Inc. testified Tuesday in front of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and the Workforce.

The show was to discuss how ductless mini-split technology can work to air condition many homes without the need for extensive remodeling.

The Obama administration estimates that 4.2 million workers will either receive raises or protections against being forced to work more than 40 hours a week.  

Companies are judged on issues such as employee relations, human rights, financial performance, climate change initiatives and community support.

The American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers, and the Association of Facilities Engineering have agreed to collaborate where possible on issues, conferences, education and chapter activities.

Eastern Sheet Metal said its spiral duct has been approved by the Air Movement & Control Association for air leakage ratings since 2010.

The prior arrangement dates back to when the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute and the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association merged to form AHRI in 2008.

The honor recognizes Emcor’s efforts in ensuring good workplace safety practices in the mechanical construction industry.
