Challenge: Educating homeowners on the advantages of all-climate heat pump technology.

Solution: A one-of-a-kind showroom experience that gives homeowners the opportunity to learn more about the two primary things they are investing in: the quality and reliability of both the system they are installing and the installation contractor they are inviting to work in their home.

HarmonAire Ductless Heat Pumps, Inc. an Elite Diamond Contractor®, specifically trained in installing Mitsubishi Electric equipment, is all in on all-climate heat pumps. In fact, these systems have become the company's core offering due to market demand. However, during conversations with homeowners in the Hicksville, New York community, the HarmonAire team learned that most assumed the units function similarly to a through-the-wall AC unit. Aesthetic concerns were also a barrier, as many feared that wall-mounted units would be intrusive or unattractive in their homes.

Tom Stackpole, owner of HarmonAire, recognized this as an opportunity to debunk heat pump myths and educate homeowners about the benefits these HVAC systems offer. he set out to create a welcoming, low-pressure showroom where homeowners could learn more about all-climate heat pump technology and feel reassured throughout their decision-making process. A new comfort system is a unique home improvement that impacts a family's daily life as well as their utility expenditures. A long-term relationship with a trustworthy Elite Diamond Contractor is critical for ongoing maintenance, service, or warranty needs.

A One-Of-A-Kind Showroom Featuring Mitsubishi Electric All-Climate Heat Pumps

To address these challenges, HarmonAire launched a state-of-the-art showroom to showcase the full benefits of Mitsubishi Electric all-climate heat pumps in a typical home setting.

The showroom is divided into several areas that bring Mitsubishi Electric all-climate heat pumps to life:

  • Room 1 features an operational wall-mounted unit that demonstrates performance, quiet operation, and energy-efficiency.
  • Room 2 is furnished in an elegant setting equipped with floor-mounted units integrated into custom bookshelves displaying how the systems seamlessly blend into modern home designs.
  • Room 3 features a live plant wall and sky factory ceiling. This room is designed as a “comfort simulator” that allows customers to feel the exceptional dehumidification capability of the system firsthand.

A key feature in the showroom are the M-series systems, HarmonAire's most popular all-climate heat pump systems. These M-series systems offer greater efficiency than conventional HVAC systems and allow homeowners to personalize comfort with up to eight custom zones. These systems can also be controlled remotely.

"Making a long-term investment to improve your home's heating and cooling is significant, and we want to make sure our customers feel supported and educated every step of the way when investing in an all-climate heat pump. We know the difference this technology can make, and we're here to help our customer see that, too," said Tom.

All-Climate Heat Pump Expertise Supported by METUS

The Elite Diamond Contractor program and ongoing technical support from Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US (METUS) have been instrumental in HarmonAire's success. With access to local training, marketing resources, and expert-level product and sales support, contractors are better equipped to guide homeowners, close sales, and ensure smooth installations of all-electric, all-climate heat pumps.

Beyond sales, HarmonAire's commitment to education and service extends to the community. In partnership with METUS, HarmonAire recently donated a Mitsubishi Electric all-climate heat pump system to a local family in need, helping them enhance their home's comfort while reinforcing HarmonAire's dedication to serving others and giving back.

Tom's vision for the showroom extends beyond homeowner support. In the future, he and the HarmonAire team plan to offer continuing education classes for architects, engineers, and general contractors to foster a deeper understanding of all-climate heat pump technology and expand the network of professionals advocating for more energy-efficient solutions.

"We want to do more than just sell all-climate heat pumps - we want to create advocates who understand the full value of this technology," Tom said.

By integrating education, service, expertise and community at every step, HarmonAire is setting a new standard in the HVAC industry.
