October 1, 2019

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — John F. Malloy, chairman, president, and CEO of Victaulic Co., and his wife Jane H. Malloy will co-chair the 2019 campaign for United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley (UWGLV).

“As a number of workplace campaigns kickoff this month, we’re proud to announce John and Jane Malloy as co-chairs and thankful for their extraordinary volunteer service in this role,” said David Lewis, president, UWGLV. “They are truly inspiring philanthropists who support a variety of local organizations with a particular emphasis on youth and education. As chairman,

President, and CEO, John leads by example, making Victaulic a model for workplace campaigns.”

Through annual campaigns, United Way raises money to invest in programs that directly impact the lives of 75,000 people each year and creates opportunities to improve the health, education, and safety of everyone in the Greater Lehigh Valley.

“On behalf of the 1,100 Victaulic employees that call the Lehigh Valley region home and more than 4,000 Victaulic employees worldwide, we are honored to chair this year’s campaign,” said John Malloy. “We’re excited to help support United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley’s campaign efforts and help raise much needed funds and awareness that in turn helps the many in need right here in the Lehigh Valley.”

A part of the Lehigh Valley business community for almost 40 years, Victaulic is celebrating 100 years of innovation since its first patent in 1919. Headquartered in Easton, Victaulic and its employees have donated millions of dollars to UWGLV initiatives, and they are deeply engaged as a Community School partner of Cheston Elementary School in Easton Area School District.

“United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley offers unique and impactful programs that truly make a difference in the community,” Malloy said. “Aligning with United Way, Victaulic is corporately committed to and actively engaged in the betterment of the global communities, where we do business and where our employees live. Victaulic employees share a passion for volunteering. Whether it’s providing backpacks filled with school supplies for kids at Cheston Elementary School, making sure students are prepared for an emergency through the American Red Cross Pillowcase Project or collecting toiletries for ProJeCt of Easton, they are always ready to support their neighbors.”

Malloy, chairman, president, and CEO of Victaulic joined the company in 2002. Victaulic is a manufacturing company that provides pipe joining and flow control solutions to the construction industry. Victaulic has five locations in the Lehigh Valley, including two of its five global foundries.

Prior to joining Victaulic, John Malloy spent 19 years working for United Technologies Corp., rising to the position of president of North America for UTC’s Carrier division. Prior to joining UTC, he worked for Air Products & Chemicals and taught economics at Hamilton College. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston College and a doctorate in economics from Syracuse University. In addition to his leadership role at Victaulic, John and Jane Malloy are actively involved with supporting charitable events and strengthening their community. They are members of United Way’s Tocqueville Society and volunteers of Valley Youth House, and John Malloy actively participates on the boards of several companies and not-for-profit organizations, including Hubbell Inc., Holingsworth & Vose, Lehigh Valley Health Network, and DeSales University.

United Way’s annual campaign runs through March 31, 2020. For more information, visit www.victaulic.com.
