FAIRFAX, Va. — Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, announced that Joseph Masiello, P.E., CEM, LEED AP, has joined the firm as an associate vice president in the New York City office.

Masiello brings more than 30 years of experience to the firm and will lead the NYC mechanical engineering and fire protection group. His background includes extensive experience with the design of cogeneration systems, central utility plants, and HVAC industrial facilities. Masiello has worked on numerous projects throughout his career, including a 15 megawatt cogeneration system for the University of Calgary and a 150,000-square-foot pharmaceutical aseptic manufacturing facility in Wilson, North Carolina.

“I’m looking forward to working with the talented NYC MEP group that is well-balanced in terms of individual years of experience, technological capabilities, sector experience, and has the full support of the firm to expand its influence, growth, and profitability in the industry marketplace,” said Masiello.

Masiello earned a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook (1987) and an associate’s in HVAC technology from SUNY at Farmingdale (1982). He is a professional engineer in New York and is a member of ASHRAE and the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE).

“We’re pleased to welcome Joe to Dewberry,” said John Boulé, P.E., senior vice president, Dewberry. “His diverse experience and technical background are assets to the NYC MEP group and will help expand our services throughout the northeast.”
