UV Resources approved provider of CEUs in Florida

IndustryNews
March 16, 2018

The Florida Board of Professional Engineers (FBPE) has approved UV Resources as a Continuing Education Provider for the organization, which regulates the practice of engineering in the state.

The free one-hour training course offered by UV Resources is titled “How UV-C Can Reduce HVAC Energy, Maintenance Costs and Improve IAQ” and offers an overview of the various benefits ultraviolet germicidal energy provides commercial HVACR systems.

As an approved training provider, UV Resources will offer coursework for the professional organization’s 41,000 active licensed engineers in the state of Florida. Licensed P.E.s in Florida are required to complete 18 hours of continuing education during each registration period in order to maintain their professional credentials.

The CEU course explores ASHRAE’s findings about how the UV-C wavelength is used to not only kill microbial contaminants, but how it also improves, maintains, and assures AC system performance while reducing system maintenance and energy consumption.

"Widely embraced in the 1990s to improve indoor air quality, many engineers now recognize UV-C as a proven means of keeping HVAC systems running optimally and cost-effectively," says Dan Jones, president of UV Resources.

There is no charge for the course, which can be delivered in person by trained UV Resources representatives.

Local ASHRAE chapters or trade organizations across the country can request this specialized training by contacting Dean Saputa at dean.saputa@uvresources.com.
