Emerson webinar to explore natural refrigerants in small-format applications

IndustryNews
April 18, 2017

Emerson’s next E360 webinar will cover the variety of refrigeration and refrigerant options that small-format food retail and foodservice operators have to choose from. With a growing list of eco-friendly refrigerant options and many low global warming potential (GWP) options from which to choose, small grocers, convenience stores, and restaurants are challenged with selecting a new refrigerant alternative that will serve as the basis for their short- and long-term refrigeration platforms, according to Emerson officials.

The webinar, entitled Opportunities for Natural Refrigerants in Small-format Applications, will be held on Tuesday, May 16 at 2 p.m. EDT. Presenters will explore the many considerations operators have when moving to natural refrigerant-based systems, including cost, performance, safety, and servicing impacts of natural systems. The manufacturer said attendees will also learn:

• Evolution of natural systems from large- to small-format retail

• Market dynamics driving an increase in urban small-format retail

• Regulatory implications of propane (R-290) and CO2 (R-744)

• Equipment and system architectures that utilize natural refrigerants

The webinar will be co-presented by Allen Wicher, director of refrigeration marketing, and Andre Patenaude, director of CO2 business development, both with Emerson’s Commercial and Residential Solutions platform. Wicher is responsible for leading the business strategy and planning for growth in restaurants, convenience stores, and commercial kitchens. Patenaude is responsible for developing the global strategy around the company’s CO2 industry stewardship, marketing initiatives, and channel training as it relates to CO2 refrigeration systems.
