WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff completes asset acquisition of CRC Engineering, P.C.
WSP/Parsons Brinckerhoff has acquired substantially all the assets of CRC Engineering, P.C. (CRC), a New York-based firm specializing in design, field services, and commissioning for central utility plants and cogeneration systems.
“We offer clients a broad range of services in power generation and delivery,” said Roger Blair, president of the U.S. industrial and energy sector at WSP/Parsons Brinckerhoff. “The closing of this transaction reinforces our expertise in the design and installation of central utility systems for facilities such as hospitals, universities, and commercial buildings. It also expands our capabilities in the development of cogeneration plants, which are highly efficient systems that produce both electricity and thermal energy from one fuel source. We’ve worked with CRC successfully in the past, and we’re confident that their strong northeast presence, combined with WSP/Parsons Brinckerhoff’s national footprint, will provide an excellent platform for growth.
Since its founding in 2008, CRC has served clients such as The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Brown University, and the University of Vermont. Services provided include the design of high-temperature hot water and steam systems, chilled water and condenser water systems, underground site distribution piping, and cogeneration systems. CRC has also provided commissioning and system startup services as well as energy consulting, hydraulic modeling and verification, including master planning, system optimization, feasibility studies, and life cycle cost analysis.
WSP/Parsons Brinckerhoff provides services in power generation, transmission and distribution, energy systems for buildings, underground storage of hydrocarbons, and deep injection wells. The firm has experience in all forms of power generation from conventional technologies to cogeneration, combined-cycle generation, and the production of power from renewable sources. CRC staff will be integrated into the WSP/Parsons Brinckerhoff power group.
