Distech Controls launches Internet of Things roadshow

Distech Controls announced the launch of its “Connecting for the Internet of Things Building” roadshow. In partnership with Acuity Brands and Periscope™ (by Activelogix), this learning and networking event series will feature industry best-practices, practical takeaways, and learnings and an analysis of the evolution in industry offerings to enable IoT technology.

The half-day educational events are designed for key decision makers responsible for IP-based technology and modern buildings. Bringing together top building owners, architects, and consulting engineers, the conferences will allow stakeholders, to connect, converse and share today, creating the technologies of tomorrow, according to organizers.

Speakers will share their expertise as to why IP is so important, with “IoT products leading to exciting new services and analytics that will improve the building tenant’s experience, and owner’s bottom line,” said Greg Barnes, vice president of sales and marketing for Activelogix.

“The Internet of Things Building not only connects a buildings’ systems and services, it lets occupants interact and connect with their environment in new ways to create a more personalized working space that helps them perform and operate more efficiently,” said Jeff Quinlan, technology evangelist for Acuity Brands Lighting.

The Connecting for the Internet of Things Building series is set to take place in seven major North American cities.

• Toronto - September 15 

• Chicago - September 17 

• Boston - October 6          

• New York - October 8                     

• San Francisco - October 15            

• Washington D.C. - October 20      

• Atlanta - October 27                        

“This event series is about creating an atmosphere that promotes going above and beyond the ordinary, to bring smart, profound change to the industry,” said Trevor Palmer, Distech Controls’ vice president of products and marketing. “As we embark on the journey towards converged BMS, this event will explore the ways in which one can leverage their IT infrastructure and benefit from convergence now and in the future.”
