Bradford White donates $15,000 to PHCC scholarships
Bradford White Corp. has provided $15,000 to support 2014 student scholarships through the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (PHCC) Educational Foundation and PHCC National Auxiliary. The scholarships are designed to attract and support new talent essential to the future of the plumbing and HVACR industry.
The PHCC Educational Foundation’s Scholarship Committee met in August and selected winners for the three $2,500 awards sponsored by Bradford White. This year’s scholarship award recipients were:
• Adam Menken of Stormville, NY. Menken is pursuing a two-year degree in plumbing, heating, and refrigeration at SUNY (State University of New York) – College of Technology.
• Constantino Morales of Oceanside, CA. He is working full-time at Brinks Investigation Restoration Services in San Diego and is enrolled in the PHCC Apprentice Academy of San Diego.
• Steve Winsett of San Diego. Winsett is working full-time at Bill Howe Plumbing, Inc. and is enrolled in the PHCC Apprentice Academy of San Diego.
The remaining $7,500 in Bradford White’s scholarship support is awarded through the PHCC National Auxiliary, with winners to be announced during the PHCC — National Association convention; CONNECT 2014 in New Orleans, October 8-11.
“The professional contractors who install Bradford White Water Heaters every day make our support of these awards possible,” said Carl Pinto, director of marketing for Bradford White. “We are glad to have this opportunity to build the next generation of professionals for our industry.”
Bradford White has sponsored the scholarships since 2003, and awarded $180,000 in scholarships in that time.
