Carrier enhances i-Vu building automation system

Industry News
November 5, 2013

Carrier introduced the latest release of its i-Vu® web-based BACnet® building automation system, which now offers full support for both Carrier Comfort Network® (CCN) and Carrier i-Vu Open (BACnet) systems.

According to the company, this new version of i-Vu allows customers to keep their existing CCN investment while expanding their control system with Carrier’s i-Vu Open (BACnet) controls now or in the future.

Once i-Vu combines with the CCN or BACnet system, customers can manage their entire Carrier control system through a single i-Vu user interface. This allows them to connect to Carrier equipment that has factory-integrated BACnet or CCN controls. It also allows them to view and control their building from anywhere using a standard web browser on desktops and tablets.

Customers have the capability to graphically configure and view schedules, set points, trends, alarms, and reports. They can also integrate and control other systems in the building using all major protocols.

“As part of Carrier’s ongoing commitment to innovative building control systems and solutions, the company continues to enhance the i-Vu building automation system,” said Mark Jones, business manager for Carrier Controls. “It has always been our goal to provide all Carrier customers, both new and existing, with all of the powerful features that i-Vu provides. We are pleased to announce that customers can now use i-Vu to manage all of their Carrier control systems, whether that system is CCN, BACnet, or a mixture of both.”
