Bryant-sponsored car wins Indianapolis 500

Industry News
June 3, 2013

Bryant Heating & Cooling Systems saw its first victory at the Indianapolis 500. The company began its participation in 1958. Tony Kanaan, driver of the Bryant-sponsored car, led a total of 34 laps on the way to his first victory in his 12th appearance at the race.

“This is the biggest win of my career,” said Kanaan after the race. “I knew at the beginning [of the race] that we had a great car — I knew that from the get-go. We had a great plan and it was just one of those days. Everything was so smooth. This place has always been special to me, so to finally earn a win here is just unbelievable.”

According to Bryant, the Indianapolis 500 provides an ideal backdrop to bring a large contingency of dealers from across North America to Indianapolis. During the May 26 weekend, Bryant announced its Circle of Champions, which are Bryant Factory Authorized Dealers that are judged on overall Bryant-branded product sales growth, high-efficiency and indoor air quality equipment sales, customer satisfaction, and participation in various dealer programs and promotions. This year, 55 Bryant Factory Authorized Dealers throughout the U.S. and Canada qualified for and were presented with the awards.

“Bryant has been a part of the Indianapolis 500 for a long time and we couldn’t be more pleased with Sunday’s result,” said Chris Nelson, president of residential and commercial systems for Bryant. “Tony had a fantastic race and much like Bryant’s ‘Whatever It Takes’ philosophy, he ran strong all day and put himself in the right position on the final laps to take the win. We’re proud of him and we look forward to going for two in a row next season. The Indianapolis 500 provides a unique setting for us to recognize our Bryant dealers. The entire weekend is a way to celebrate them and this year, Tony gave us the ultimate icing on the cake.”
