Apollo Valves announces membership in the USGBC

May 23, 2008

Apollo® Valves has announced its formal membership through its parent company Conbraco Industries, Inc. in the USGBC.

A non-profit agency, the USGBC serves as a clearinghouse and voice for more than 13,500 organizations - including the building trades and suppliers from across the nation - that support “greener” and more environmentally sustainable development of residential and commercial buildings.

“As an American company concerned with environmental issues for a long time, we’re proud to join with others who share a commitment to promoting clean, sustainable construction in every way possible,” said Cal C. Mosack, Conbraco executive vice president. “The council’s promotion of socially responsible practices is something we at Conbraco totally support.”

The Green Building Council sponsors workshops, networking, certification and other programs. Its focus is to work with firms and agencies on all levels to introduce more sustainable practices in the design, construction and operation of buildings and communities. Among its accomplishments: the voluntary LEED® national rating system for new buildings.

Based in the Carolinas since 1955, Conbraco, through its Apollo® brand, produces of ball and butterfly valves, pressure-reducing valves, safety relief valves, backflow preventers, actuators, and other devices.
