Active Power, Inc. announced that the integral technology used in its CoolAir product line, was issued U.S. Patent 7,086,231 in early August of this year, and also that the company received CE approval in late September, which will enable the company to begin distribution of the CoolAir DC product in the European Union.  

CE approval refers to the European EMC Directive and is required for every piece of electronic equipment manufactured or imported into Europe.
