RENO, Nev. - Making ammonia (R-717) and CO2 (R-744) work together to
create industrial refrigeration formed the basis of several technical papers and exhibit booth discussions at the most recent conference and exhibition of the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR) Conference. One exhibitor, Isotherm, displayed a 4-foot-tall temperature-pressure chart for both natural refrigerants, while paper presenters went into detail as to how to make the technology work.
For Ole Christensen of M&M Refrigeration, Federalsburg, Md., the incentive for such an approach came from Europe.
