Equipment Dealer Chooses Infrared Heat For Facility
EAST WENATCHEE, Wash. — Three counties in the state of Washington — Douglas, Grant, and Chelan — have some of the lowest power rates in the nation due to the operation of hydropower dams by the local utilities. Because of these low power rates, electricity is usually chosen over gas for most industrial and commercial customers. Typical cost per kilowatt-hour, excluding any demand charges, averages 2.6 cents per kilowatt-hour compared to about 8.3 cents per kilowatt-hour for the national average electrical cost.
N.C. Machinery, a Caterpillar dealer in Wenatchee, went against the grain when it built a larger facility to serve its array of heavy-duty earthmoving and excavation equipment, tractors, and backhoes. According to Space Ray, the equipment dealer made the right move.
