WASHINGTON - Those interested in recommending changes to the latest National Fuel Gas Code (ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54-2002) can send their proposals to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) or American Gas Association (AGA).
The National Fuel Gas Code provides criteria on most aspects of fuel-gas installations on consumer premises. Coverage includes gas piping materials, system design, installation and inspections; combustion air; equipment venting; and specific equipment installation criteria. Many local gas utilities and federal, state, and local officials use the National Gas Code to judge the acceptability of fuel-gas installations.
