MALTA, N.Y. — The Building Performance Institute Inc. (BPI) released its 2011 end of year report, which detailed a year of strong growth for the home performance credentialing and standards setting organization.
In 2011, BPI certifications grew 120 percent over 2010 figures. A total of 14,571 certifications were granted in 2011, bringing the total active certifications to 31,662. In response to ANSI protocols requiring certification bodies demonstrate that training is independent of the evaluation and certification process, BPI transitioned its relationship with several training organizations from affiliates to BPI test centers. A total of 304 test centers operated in 2011, up from 242 in 2010.
