The HTD Series geothermal heat pump, designed for downflow/counterflow applications, has been added to the GeoMax2® line. The series comes in 1-1/2- to 6-ton capacities. The two-stage system saves energy by automatically shifting between part load and full load to optimize comfort. It runs at 67 percent capacity most of the time, maintaining a constant temperature and humidity level. When there’s a greater demand, the unit instantly shifts to 100 percent capacity. According to the manufacturer, efficiency is enhanced by a multistage scroll compressor and a variable-speed blower motor that provides a multitude of operational modes. Features include a built-in domestic hot water generator, a performance monitoring system that signals a potential problem before a lockout can occur, variable-speed electronically commutated motor for silent ramp-up, and auto adaptability to the system requirements.
