Decals for Kerosene Pumps Help Meet EPA Requirements
As of June 1, 2006, fuel marketers that sell kerosene are required to use sulfur content disclosure labels on their pumps, similar to those already in use on diesel fuel pumps. NEFI said, "If a fuel marketer fails to label their kerosene pumps, or uses incorrect or noncompliant labels, they could face federal fines of up to $32,500 per day per violation."
The decals are 3.75 by 3.25 inches, self-adhesive, and overlaminated for durability, the institute said. Five different labels are available to show the various levels of sulfur content, and also whether the fuel is taxed or nontaxed.
