The AHRI is urging senators to confirm the White House’s nominee for deputy energy secretary.
The Senate’s Energy and Natural Resources Committee voted last week to support the nomination of Dan Brouillette.
"Mr. Brouillette's experience as a former state energy regulator, as the former chief of staff of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and as a former DOE (Department of Energy) assistant secretary of energy for congressional and intergovernmental affairs, clearly demonstrates his deep understanding of the energy sector," said Stephen Yurek, president and CEO of the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute. "Many of the products and equipment manufactured by our member companies are regulated by DOE under the Energy Policy and Conservation Act, and it is critical that the DOE leadership understand the importance of ensuring that the regulatory process operates fairly and consistently for all stakeholders. Mr. Brouillette clearly understands that importance and will be a clear asset to the secretary of energy and the agency as a whole, in their important work.”
