An HVAC market wholesalers group is asking members to examine their businesses in preparation for next month’s convention.

The Heating, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International’s annual conference will take place Dec. 5-8 in Orlando, Florida.

“The conference slogan, ‘Forward 15: Action before reaction,’ asks distributors to consider what made their individual businesses successful in the first place and proactively take action to drive those strengths forward,” said HARDI marketing manager Chris DeBoer. “Moreover, we want to teach attendees strategies that will allow them to uncover new and innovative ways to apply those strengths. As disruptive forces attempt to compete, nobody can compare when you’re incomparably good at what you do. Take action now and avoid reacting later.”

The conference’ main speakers include Marc Randolph, a founding CEO of video service Netflix; John Rossman, a former executive and author of The Amazon Way: 14 Leadership Principles Behind the World’s Most Disruptive Company; and association economist Alan Beaulieu.

Randolph is expected to share tips, tricks and stories drawn from his four decades as an entrepreneur that will teach attendees how to be more responsive to changing market conditions.

In Rossman’s session, he will introduce attendees to the corporate culture of the world’s largest Internet retailer, with a focus on the 14 leadership principles that have guided and shaped its decisions and its distinctive leadership culture.

Beaulieu will provide economic insights and forecasts with suggestions for HARDI distributors.
