It’s still almost a year away, but the International Roofing Expo is already seeking people who want to be part of its educational program.

The Feb. 3-5, 2009, event at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas is expected to attract thousands of roofing industry workers, including contractors, architects and owners.

Session topics planned for the 2009 show include business management, safety, management, money and related issues. New for the show will be sessions focusing on green or sustainable building. Those interested in speaking about energy efficiency, building practices and environmental responsibility or any other roofing topics are invited to apply.

“We are seeking beginner-, intermediate- and expert-level presentations,” said conference manager Brandi McElhaney. “Our attendees want to learn techniques that will strengthen and streamline their businesses, so we need to accommodate their many different levels of skill and experience.”

The deadline for proposals is April 9. Speakers should plan for 90-minute noncommercial presentations using jobsite examples wherever possible.

Proposal forms with specifications are available online at www.theroofingexpo.com/Roofing08/splash/09Call.pdfand can be e-mailed to McElhaney at BMcElhaney@HanleyWood.com. Anyone with questions can call her at (972) 536-6392.

The show is presented by Hanley Wood Exhibitions.
