The SMv2 sealed motor valve is an industrial-grade motor-operated valve. The hermetic design eliminates valve stem seal leakage because the nonelectric rotor is enclosed in a stainless steel can, which contains the fluid pressure, the company says. The electric stator is located outside of the can. The outer enclosure provides secondary pressure containment. The 4-20mA signal allows the customer to control the valve via a PLC or computer. According to the company, the valve offers significant upgrades including a higher torque motor for positive seating, true valve position feedback with an independent sensing circuit, and a magnetic calibration switch. A motor with Power-Close is optional on the SMv2. Power-Close is an integral battery used for closing the valve in the event of either 24-VAC power failure or 4-20mA control signal failure. Various models are available for different applications.
