HAVERHILL, MA — The air conditioning system at the offices of the Veterans Outreach Center on Cedar St. received a no-cost tune-up recently, thanks to Climate Design Systems here.
The center, which serves veterans from Newburyport to Lowell, MA, provides outreach and information about benefits, job counseling, housing for homeless vets, and a food pantry.
The contractor donated its services as part of its participation in the National Day of Service, a program sponsored by Service Experts of Richardson, TX. Climate Design is affiliated with Service Experts and Lennox.
Nearly all 212 Service Experts centers throughout the country participated in the National Day of Service. Their mission is to assist charitable organizations or low-income residents in their communities by ensuring that their heating and cooling systems are properly maintained, with an emphasis on protecting their comfort and safety during periods of extreme hot and cold weather. Some centers, like Climate Design Systems, assist shelters, food pantries, and other human service organizations.
