PORTLAND, OR — Douglas McQuown of Artic Sheet Metal, based here, was recently elected to the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association’s (SMACNA’s) board of directors. His four-year term began on Oct. 28, at the close of the association’s 58th annual convention, held in Boca Raton, FL.

“I am dedicated to the future progress of the industry and feel that I have the ability and commitment to contribute to that end,” said McQuown.

At the national level, McQuown serves as a member of the National Residential Contractors Council Steering Committee. In the past, he has served as a member of the Industrial Duct Standards Committee and the Fibrous Glass Duct Construction Task Force.

Currently, McQuown is a member of the Columbia Chapter board of directors and serves as chairman for the Apprenticeship Trust and the Health and Welfare Trust. In addition, he serves as a trustee to the Pension Trust.

Serving two terms as president of the SMACNA Columbia Chapter, McQuown has also served as chapter vice president and councilor to SMACNA’s Council of Chapter Representatives.

Outside of SMACNA, McQuown is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
