Sutton Named President Of ARI

ARLINGTON, VA — The Air-Condi-tioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) has announced the appointment of William G. Sutton as president of the trade association. On January 1, 2002, Sutton will replace Clifford H. “Ted” Rees, Jr., who is retiring after eight years as president of ARI.

“Woody Sutton’s experience in the use of technology and innovative leadership solutions will be of great value in continuing ARI’s well-earned reputation for excellence achieved under the direction of Ted Rees,” said Daniel W. Holmes, Jr., chairman of ARI’s board of directors. “ARI welcomes his expertise in cost management, efficiency, service improvement, and strategic reorganization.”

Sutton retired from the U.S. Navy last year with the rank of admiral after a 30-year career. He was also director of programs in the Navy Office of Legislative Affairs, which included advocacy to the defense authorization committees of the U.S. House and Senate. In an earlier role, Sutton was also a Naval Aide to President Ronald Regan.
