WASHINGTON, DC — James A. Broaddus, the first president and chief executive office of the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) tendered his resignation on June 29, 2000, which will take effect Oct. 31.

Jeffrey A. Raday, chairman of the DBIA board of directors, said, “Jim is an incredibly gifted leader of the highest character, who has represented DBIA exceptionally well since joining us in 1998. During his tenure, DBIA’s membership increased exponentially, our programs have expanded, our legislative activity, both federal and state, has increased, and our visibility through chapter expansion has exploded.”

According to the association, Broaddus intends to return to assisting project owners in effectively organizing, planning, and executing projects, including those delivered through design-build.
