FREDERICK, Md. — Blue Pillar, an Internet of Things (IoT) provider, has announced the addition of energy industry veteran Todd Krause as its chief commercial officer (CCO). As CCO, Krause will lead Blue Pillar’s global sales, marketing, and operations organizations.

“Continuing his distinguished career with leading companies in the connected energy industry, Todd will play an integral role at Blue Pillar by shaping our customer-facing commercial strategy,” said Tom Willie, CEO of Blue Pillar. “His knowledge of the IoT space coupled with his extensive energy industry experience makes Todd the perfect fit for our management team and an ideal leader for our commercial organization. Todd represents a valuable infusion of enthusiasm and strategic thinking to the Blue Pillar executive suite.”

Krause brings over a decade of experience managing commercial business initiatives at companies including GE and EnerNOC. As vice president of global utility sales at EnerNOC, he played an important role in the company’s rapid revenue growth from a $20 million to $400 million dollar company.

“By being at the intersection of IoT and energy, Blue Pillar is uniquely positioned to be a game changer for commercial and industrial customers as well as utilities,” Krause said. “Blue Pillar is the only company with a decade of experience connecting and controlling behind-the-meter assets that matter — from combined heat and power (CHP) systems and solar arrays to diesel generators, meters, and HVAC equipment. This connectivity is the key ingredient missing from other energy management solutions and is the first step toward unleashing the power of real-time connectivity that can redefine what’s possible behind the meter. I’m honored to join such an innovative company that is at the forefront of a tremendous market opportunity.”
