SAN FRANCISCO — Encycle, developer of the Swarm Energy Management platform™, announced it was one the recipients of the 2016 Global Cleantech 100 award. This award, presented by the Cleantech Group, recognizes the most innovative and promising ideas in clean technology.

The Swarm platform uses retrofit controllers that work with a building’s energy consuming devices. Most often, these controllers are fitted to the largest consuming devices in a building, typically HVAC units, though they can operate with any electrically controlled device. The controllers provide energy savings through consumption management, demand management, and intelligent demand response.

“We are very pleased to be selected as a Top 100 company from among the thousands nominated,” said Bob Chiste, CEO. “It’s wonderful to receive such accolades from industry peers, recognizing the tremendous value we provide to commercial facility operators in terms of electricity peak demand and consuming savings, all derived using our Swarm Logic™ intellectual property.”

This year, a record number of nominations were received for the Cleantech 100 award: 6,900 companies from 60 countries. These companies were weighted and scored to create a short list of 323 companies. Short-listed nominees were reviewed by Cleantech Group’s expert panel, resulting in a finalized list of 100 companies from 17 countries.
