ANAHEIM, Calif. — Fieldpiece Instruments, provider of tools and test instruments for HVACR professionals, announced that its Job Link™ app, for wireless real-time measurements, is now available for Android as well as iOS devices.

The company said the Job Link app allows techs to view live measurements, get insightful diagnostics, create professional looking reports, and email findings to the office and customer. The Fieldpiece JL2 Transmitter is required to link the Android or iOS device with any Fieldpiece wireless manifold (SMAN4, SMAN440, SMAN460) and the wireless dual in-duct psychrometer (SDP2). The JL2 Transmitter can be purchased at local distributors and includes a one-year subscription to Job Link Pro. The app can be downloaded free from the Google Play store for Android devices or the Apple Store for iOS devices. It currently works with Android operating systems 4.4.4 or newer and iPhone 4S or newer/ iPad 3/iPad mini/iPad Air.

“The response to the JL2 diagnostic system for Apple devices was overwhelming and we worked as quickly as possible to bring the same ease-of-use and feature-rich app to Android devices,” said Russ Harju, product manager at Fieldpiece. “Our app gives the field technician an advantage on the job as he will use Job Link to make adjustments based on live measurements, and be able to save critical information to the cloud and send to the office or to the customer.”

The Job Link app works with Fieldpiece’s SMAN4, SMAN440 and SMAN460 manifolds, which are used to check, evaluate, and charge systems. It also is compatible with the SDP2 psychrometer. The app will take the information from these products and put it in a report that is easy to email to the customer right from their Android or iOS device. The report is also saved in the cloud so it can be accessed for future calls to the same customer. Fieldpiece said the latest update of the app for both iOS and Android includes the ability to save photos and make notes to help make the techs’ job even easier.
