Dec. 16, 2014: NORESCO Selected for $43 Million Performance Contract at Fort Jackson
Contract Focuses on Energy Efficiency and Water Conservation
WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — NORESCO announced that it has won a $43 million energy savings performance contract for work at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina, the U.S. Army’s largest and most active basic combat training center. NORESCO is a part of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp.
The performance contract, which focuses on energy efficiency and water conservation, includes improvements to lighting and upgrades to energy management control systems, central plant facilities, and water systems. It is intended to improve comfort and productivity for soldiers and staff in the indoor environment, while reducing energy use intensity by 17 percent and water usage by 12 percent. The project will also measurably reduce carbon dioxide emissions and other environmental pollutants.
