Jan. 27, 2014: Tim Wentz Is Elected First Mechanical Contractor Officer of ASHRAE
Wentz Worked in the Industry for 19 Years Before Becoming an Associate Professor
ROCKVILLE, Md. — Tim Wentz, educator and recipient of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America’s (MCAA’s) Distinguished Service Award, was elected ASHRAE’s treasurer for 2014-2015 during the ASHRAE 2014 Winter Conference. He will automatically become the association’s president-elect in 2015-2016 and will assume the ASHRAE presidency in 2016-2017, the first mechanical contractor to serve in that role.
A fourth-generation union mechanical contractor, he worked in the industry for 19 years before becoming an associate professor of construction management at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a post he has held for 20 years. He is the faculty advisor for the MCAA student chapter at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, which is sponsored by the MCA of Omaha (MCAO), and serves on the faculty of MCAA’s Institute for Project Management (IPM) and National Education Initiative (NEI). In addition, he has presented at numerous mid-year conferences, workshops, and seminars on behalf of MCAA.
