Oct. 23, 2013: ARS/Rescue Rooter Technician Receives Citation for Bravery
Police Department Honors Shane St. Pierre for His Bravery in Helping to Subdue a Suspect
RALEIGH, N.C. — Shane St. Pierre, an ARS/Rescue Rooter HVAC technician, received a Chief’s Citation from the Raleigh (N.C.) Police Department for his role in helping an injured police officer subdue a combative suspect. (See “HVAC Tech Helps Take Down Assailant” in the Sept. 2, 2013 issue of The NEWS.)
While on a service call on the morning of July 31, 2013, St. Pierre witnessed several people running out of a local apartment complex building claiming that a man was inside throwing rocks and bricks. Still standing outside the commotion, he saw the man strike the officer with a brick multiple times. When he noticed that the officer was having difficulty subduing the man, St. Pierre immediately sprang into action and aided the injured officer as well as a second officer that arrived on the scene shortly after.
