ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. — The Air Movement and Control Association International (AMCA International) held its 56th annual meeting in Kauai, Hawaii. Victor “Vic” C. Colwell, vice president of sales and marketing, Loren Cook Co. of Springfield, Mo., was elected as the association’s 2011-2013 president. During his tenure as president of AMCA, Colwell promised to focus on increasing the acceptance of AMCA International’s high standards in the Asian and European regions, as well as continuing to improve AMCA’s relevance within North America. Other areas of focus will be educating young engineering students through further development of AMCA’s University Awareness Program, promoting AMCA’s Fan Efficiency Grading (FEG) program, and leveraging AMCA in a down world economy.
In addition, the new AMCA executive committee and board of directors for 2011-2012 was announced. Michael Barry, the outgoing AMCA International president and president of Twin City Fan Cos. Ltd., was inaugurated as chairman of the board. Geoff Sheard, Ph.D., vice president, fan technology, Fläkt Woods Ltd., was elected as treasurer. Patrick A. Cockrum, president, Pottorff, was elected as secretary.
